The deadline that matters is not the holiday itself — it is the last working day your employees are actually at their desks. Rosh Hashanah 2026 starts at sundown on Friday, 11 September, and because the first day of the festival falls on Shabbat, the country stops for roughly three straight days, returning to work only on Monday, 14 September. Most Israeli offices wind down on Thursday afternoon, 10 September, so plan for boxes to arrive between Sunday 6 and Thursday 10 September.
Work backwards from there. Nationwide delivery takes three to eight business days in Israel, and the business week runs Sunday to Thursday, so a box arriving on 8 September needs to leave our packing floor in the last week of August. In practice:
- Multi-address lists (a box to each employee's home, 10 recipients or more): confirm your order by Wednesday 26 – Thursday 27 August 2026. Every box is packed by hand and each address is booked separately, so this is the tightest constraint in the whole process.
- Single-address orders (everything to one office, then distributed internally): confirm by Sunday 30 August 2026.
- Self-pickup from Shilat: stays open latest, into the first week of September, and costs nothing.

Why Sending From Inside Israel Beats Shipping From Abroad
Sending from inside Israel means your Israeli team pays nothing at the door. When a company ships gifts in from abroad, Israel's personal-import rules apply, and those rules got stricter this year: the VAT exemption threshold reverted from $150 back to $75 on 2 June 2026, so a shipment valued between $75 and $130 that was tax-free a few months ago is now subject to 18% VAT. Above that, customs duty and purchase tax can apply too. On a corporate order of forty boxes, that is forty separate opportunities for an employee to get a clearance notice instead of a gift.
Ordering locally removes the problem entirely, and the arithmetic is simple. Nationwide home or office delivery is ₪45 before VAT per address (₪53 including VAT), arriving within three to eight business days. A consolidated drop to a single point runs ₪300–₪500 depending on location — usually the cheapest option once you pass roughly ten recipients at one site. Self-pickup from our packing centre in Shilat is free. There is no minimum order: you can order any quantity, from three boxes to three hundred.
The other difference is what arrives. An international parcel arrives as a parcel. A box packed in Shilat arrives finished — sealed, ribboned, with a card naming the producers inside it — which is the part your employees actually photograph and put on the table.

Alcohol, Kashrut and Mixed Teams: What to Check First
Two questions decide more Israeli corporate gift orders than budget does. The first is alcohol: in a team that mixes secular, religious and Muslim or Druze employees, a wine bottle is not a neutral gift, and specifying the whole list alcohol-free from the start is the simplest way to avoid the problem. The second is kashrut. Every box is kosher under local rabbinate supervision and most components carry Badatz certification, which covers the overwhelming majority of Israeli workplaces. The commonly quoted ₪240 figure applies to gifts given to clients and business associates, not to your own staff, and it is a deductibility ceiling for the company rather than an exemption for the recipient.
What this means in practice is that the tax treatment does not change between a ₪50 box and a ₪150 box — only the amount does. So the decision is a straightforward budget question, not a threshold-chasing exercise, and companies that spend a little more per employee are not crossing any cliff edge by doing so.
