Hanukkah Gift for an Evacuee Family in Israel — 4 Kosher Boxes (2026)

Hanukkah Gift for an Evacuee Family in Israel — 4 Kosher Boxes (2026)

A Hanukkah gift for an evacuee family in Israel works best when it is practical, easy to carry and built for sharing: a kosher box with something to eat, something to light and something to play together. Our Hanukkah boxes for displaced families run from ₪92 to ₪177 (VAT included), arrive in about 3–8 days anywhere in Israel with no customs, and an order placed by 20.11.26 lands well before the first candle on 04.12.26. For the wider picture, see our hub for gifts that support real producers.

Hibuk Otef — The Story Behind Every Gift

Hibuk Otef (“Enveloping Embrace”) is a unique boutique gift initiative that brings together products from the communities of the Gaza Envelope and Israel’s southern and northern frontier, alongside works of art that commemorate the beauty of the region. The project was founded to support local producers, farmers and entrepreneurs who were affected. 60% of revenues go directly to producers from the affected communities.

What makes a good Hanukkah gift for a family that was displaced

Choose things that travel and need no kitchen. Families living in temporary housing, a rented apartment or a relative’s spare room rarely have a full pantry or a free shelf, so a single compact box of about 35 cm length is easier than a large basket. Our four boxes below are all built around that idea: one carton, ready to open the moment it arrives. Each one is kosher under local rabbinate supervision, most of it Badatz, which matters when a family is eating at hosts’ tables or in a hotel dining room.

Add something to do, not only something to eat. Eight nights in a small space are long for children. A memory game or a family card game turns the gift into evenings together, which is why two of our four picks include one. If you are sending from abroad, you can also add a short personal card.

How to send it: timing, delivery and no customs

Order from inside Israel and skip the border. Because Neta packs and delivers locally, the recipient pays no customs or duties, and delivery to a home address anywhere in the country costs ₪45 before VAT and takes about 3–8 days. Remote northern and southern addresses should be checked before ordering, so write to us first if the family is in a guest house or a temporary neighbourhood.

Work back from 04.12.26. The first candle is lit on the evening of Friday 04.12.26, so ordering by 20.11.26 leaves a comfortable buffer. If the family has moved recently, message us the current address before you order. For the full holiday timeline, see our Hanukkah gifts to Israel guide.

Choose by budget: 4 kosher Hanukkah boxes

From the lowest to the highest price. Prices below include 18% VAT, and ex-VAT prices are ₪78, ₪100, ₪125 and ₪150 respectively.

    Rom Hanukkah box, ₪92

Rom Hanukkah box with 44 memorial Hanukkah candles and two fruit jams

The simplest way to send light: 44 Hanukkah candles made in memory of Ofir Lieberstein of Kibbutz Kfar Aza, plus two fruit preserves (strawberry, forest fruit, blueberry or orange, 170 g each, no preservatives). That is exactly the 44 candles needed for all eight nights. See the Rom Hanukkah box.

    Warm Embrace Hanukkah box, ₪118

Warm Embrace Hanukkah box with a family memory game, Galilee chocolate and a scented candle

A family memory game with 50 cards of Israeli wildflowers, illustrated by Tali Matar and bilingual, so grandparents abroad and children in Israel can play with the same deck. It comes with a handmade Galilee chocolate bar (100-120 g) and a poured scented candle from the Naarei HaOr project. A savory spread can replace the candle if you prefer. See the Warm Embrace box.

    Hibuk LaTzafon box, ₪147.50

A box for northern families, with Israeli extra-virgin olive oil, a mix of Upper Galilee dried fruit (apple, mango, banana, nectarine, persimmon), a handmade Galilee chocolate bar (80 g), an apple-and-cinnamon or berry preserve (240 g) and a savory spread (190 g). It is a full table in one carton, with no alcohol. See the Hibuk LaTzafon box.

    Family Hug box, ₪177

The box that fills the evenings: a “Hibuk Otef” family card game with 24 task and question cards that encourage open conversation, an art print from the Bezalel “Zikaron Otef” project (15×20 cm), dried fruit and roasted nuts (100 g and 200 g), chocolate-coated nuts and two energy bars. It is the right pick for a big household with teenagers. See the Family Hug box.

    The producers behind these boxes

Tali Matar is the illustrator of the wildflower memory game, and her art is also part of the Warm Embrace box. Naarei HaOr makes the poured scented candles that come from a healing-farm project for trauma survivors. Bezalel “Zikaron Otef” is the student and graduate illustration project that preserves the landscape of the Gaza Envelope as it looked before 7.10.23, and its prints travel in the Family Hug box. The Ofir Lieberstein memorial candles carry the legacy of a community leader from Kfar Aza.

Every purchase has a direct effect. 60% of revenue goes to producers from the affected communities, and the rest covers product, packaging, art card and delivery. For another kind of home visit gift, see our Hanukkah gift for a kindergarten teacher and our Hanukkah gift for newlyweds.
