Support the North: Galilee & Golan Gift Boxes

Updated: Jul 5

Most ‘support Israel’ gift shops focus on the south. But the north — the Galilee and the Golan — was also a frontier: communities near the Lebanese border were evacuated for months, and their wineries, apiaries and farms lost income. A northern gift box puts money straight into those makers’ hands. For the wider picture, see gifts that support Israeli farmers.

Hibuk Otef — The Story Behind Every Gift

Hibuk Otef (“Enveloping Embrace”) is a unique boutique gift initiative that brings together products from the communities of the Gaza Envelope and Israel’s southern and northern frontier, alongside works of art that commemorate the beauty of the region. The project was founded to support local producers, farmers and entrepreneurs who were affected. 60% of revenues go directly to producers from the affected communities, and 10% to ‘Latet’ — the humanitarian aid organization.

Why the north needs support too

When the war spread to the northern border, tens of thousands of residents of the Galilee and Golan were evacuated, sometimes for over a year. Vineyards went unharvested, apiaries were left behind, and small food businesses lost their busiest seasons. Buying their products is a direct, dignified way to help them rebuild.

Northern producers you’ll be supporting

Har Odem Winery (Golan). Cool-climate wines grown in volcanic soil high on the Golan Heights, near the border.

Ayelet HaShachar & Moshav Manot (Galilee). Two Galilee honey producers in areas evacuated during the war. You can meet more of them in Meet the Makers.

Peki’in (Galilee). Olive products from a historic Galilee village, rounding out the northern side of the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the north of Israel need support?

Communities in the Galilee and on the Golan, near the Lebanese border, were evacuated for long periods during the war in the north. Their farms, wineries and small food businesses lost a season or more of income — and they receive far less attention than the south.

Which northern producers do you work with?

Among others: Har Odem Winery on the Golan, Ayelet HaShachar honey and the Moshav Manot apiary in the Galilee, and olive products from Peki’in.

Can I combine northern and southern products in one gift?

Yes. Many of our boxes deliberately pair the south (the Otef) with the north so a single gift supports both frontiers.

Do you deliver to the north and ship abroad?

Yes — we deliver across Israel including northern communities, and can ship a taste of Israel abroad.

Are the products kosher?

Yes — kosher under local rabbinate supervision, most Badatz.
