The Producers Behind Your Grandparents' Box

Every item in these boxes has a name and a place behind it — that is the heart of Hibuk Otef, and 60% of revenue goes directly to these producers, with another 10% to the humanitarian organization Latet. Café Chocolate of Neve Eshkol, near the Gaza border, makes the handmade pralines in several of our boxes; its founder, Dvir Karp, was murdered at Kibbutz Re’im on October 7, 2023, and his partner Uri Steiner chose to keep producing — every bar is a quiet act of courage. Halleluya, a boutique extra-virgin olive oil maker from Moshav Ein HaBesor in the Gaza Envelope, reopened after October 7 and can now barely keep up with the orders arriving every day. From the north, Barta’a crafts Golan olive oil, aromatic spreads and unusual fruit jams — one of the Galilee producers still working under the shadow of the war on the Lebanon border. Sending from abroad is simple because Hibuk Otef ships locally inside Israel — there are no customs, duties or import VAT for your grandparents to deal with, and nothing is held at a border. Home delivery anywhere in the country is a ₪45 flat rate (before VAT), the same price for one box or a crate, and single boxes usually arrive within a few business days up to about a week. You can schedule a specific delivery date, which is the safest way to make sure the box lands a day or two before erev Rosh Hashanah rather than during the rush. How fast is delivery inside Israel?

Single boxes are usually delivered within a few business days up to about a week. You can also set a specific delivery date, which is ideal for making sure the gift arrives just before Rosh Hashanah.
