Hibuk Otef — The Story Behind Every Gift

Hibuk Otef (“Enveloping Embrace”) is a unique boutique gift initiative that brings together products from the communities of the Gaza Envelope and Israel’s southern and northern frontier, alongside works of art that commemorate the beauty of the region. The project was founded to support local producers, farmers and entrepreneurs who were affected. 60% of revenues go directly to producers from the affected communities, and 10% to ‘Latet’ — the humanitarian aid organization.

Who Are ‘October 7 Survivors’ — and Where Are They Now?

Survivors live on two fronts. In the south, the Gaza-envelope communities — Be’eri, Nir Oz, Kfar Aza, Sderot and the Nova festival region — lost members, homes and livelihoods, and many families are still rebuilding. In the north, residents of the Galilee and Golan were evacuated for months under rocket fire from Lebanon, and northern producers lost a full season or more of income. Meet the Producers Behind the Boxes

Be’eri Printing (Kibbutz Be’eri). The kibbutz print house, founded in 1950, was one of Be’eri’s main livelihoods — until October 7, 2023, when the community was attacked and members were murdered in their homes. Today Be’eri Printing is back at work producing greeting cards, framed prints and recipe books; its banner read, “Despite everything, we must keep printing.” Every order from Be’eri is a quiet declaration: we are still here.

Shikma Winery (Moshav Berachya, the south). A family winery founded by Gil Eliraz on Negev soil, specializing in blends of Israeli grape varieties with a character all their own. Every bottle carries the “Zikaron Otef” design card that tells the story of the region.

Pki’in Chocolate (Upper Galilee). Boutique chocolate from a local maker in Pki’in, an Arab-Druze village in the Upper Galilee near the northern border. Pki’in has been known for its olive oil for centuries — and now for chocolate too. Including it expresses the value of “all the good that’s in Israel,” connecting different communities under one project.

Bezalel — “Zikaron Otef” art. Lecturers and final-year visual-communication students at Jerusalem’s Bezalel Academy volunteered to illustrate the Gaza-envelope landscapes as they were before October 7. These prints are tucked into our boxes as postcards — turning a gift into an act of remembrance.

Where Your Money Goes: the 60/10/3 Model

Unlike competitors who say only “proceeds support communities,” we publish the split. 60% of every box goes directly to the producers from the affected communities, 10% to Latet (humanitarian food aid) and 3% to Enosh (mental-health support). Are these gift boxes kosher?

All our boxes are kosher under local rabbinate supervision, and most carry Badatz certification. We can also match specific kashrut requirements on request.

Can you ship these gifts to Israel — or abroad?

Yes. We deliver throughout Israel, and we ship worldwide. International cost depends on size, weight and destination, with delivery usually within 15 days (express within 7 days for an extra fee). A recipient inside Israel pays no customs.
